Dr. Doug Lobay is a naturopathic physician practicing in Kelowna, British Columbia. He earned a bachelor of science from the University of British Columbia in 1987, then completed his doctorate in naturopathic medicine at Bastyr College of Natural Health Sciences in Seattle in 1991.
At Bastyr he began researching the scientific basis of naturopathic medicine, and was struck by how much published research in major medical journals addressed diet, vitamins, nutritional supplements, and herbal medicine. That evidence-first approach still shapes his practice.
For more than 30 years he has seen patients across a wide range of ages and health concerns. He is the author of six books on naturopathic medicine, was a long-time medical contributor to the Townsend Letter, and has given lectures and taught courses on natural medicine.
Dr. Lobay enjoys research, writing, and teaching others about natural health and good nutrition. Away from the clinic, you'll find him cycling, hiking, skiing, swimming, or playing hockey, tennis, and guitar.
